Sweet Almond Oil is a carrier and emollient with a high amount of olein, as well smaller proportions of linoleic acid. Similar to Olive Oil, Sweet Almond Oil improves the spreadability of creams, lotions and other oils. Sweet Almond Oil enhances the skin, leaving it smooth and soft.

Sweet almond oil NF is a preparation of the fixed oil obtained by expression from the seed of Prunus dulcis, the almond; used as an emollient, perfume, and oleaginous vehicle. It may be derived from either Prunus dulcis var. dulcis, the sweet almond, or Prunus dulcis var. amara (DC.), the bitter almond.

There are also studies suggesting that Almond Oil may help prevent heart disease. Other studies have shown that Almond Oil is beneficial in reducing cholesterol levels as well. The kernel is thought to help alleviate coughs, flatulence, and heartburn. Almond butter is a rich protein substitute for peanut butter and can be well tolerated by diabetics. The sweet almond oil is helpful to all skin types, and is good for eczema. It helps relieve itching, soreness, dryness and inflammation caused by eczema, psoriasis, any type of dermatitis. Useful against burns and thread veins. Very lubricating, but not penetrating, which makes it a good massage oil, and protectant, an excellent baby oil to protect the diaper area.
